yoga_cartoon__94477I get a lot of questions about Yoga Therapy. For example, what makes it different from a yoga class? What makes it different from talk therapy? I plan to write more about that in coming weeks. For now, I want to announce a new workshop that will be a great taste of therapeutic yoga in a small group setting. Check it out and spread the word! If you or someone you know are intimidated by typical yoga classes, are nursing an injury or illness of some kind, or simply want to better understand the deeper therapeutic benefits of yoga, this is the perfect workshop. We will have time for some sharing, if desired, and lots of practicing of effective, concrete tools.

YOGA FOR STRESS REDUCTION AND WELLNESS

Learn simple and effective techniques you can use to de-stress throughout the day and sleep better at night. Using gentle yoga poses, breath work, meditations and visualizations, we will explore our many inner resources for clearing stress and reducing burnout. This “non-gym” oriented yoga is suited to all levels and abilities. We’ll explore how to tap into the body’s amazing capacity to “rest and recover” from the stressful events of day to day life, improve your energy levels and gain enhanced body awareness. Taught by Jessie Rhines, an experienced yoga therapist with a passion for synthesizing the many layers of the self: physical, energetic, mental, emotional, and spiritual. No previous experience with yoga is necessary and all are welcome.
